Scott and I fished the Muskegon river today and despite the weather fishing was good. Below are some pictures from today! Scott owns Pine Hill Kennels and Sportsman's Club. If bird hunting or gun dogs are your thing, check out his operation michiganbirdhunter.com Andy fished with me today and it turned out to be a beautiful day on the water. Fishing was great again on the Muskegon River. We were able to find fish everywhere we dropped anchor. Below are a few of Andy's fish from today. This winter should be an epic one with the amount of fish in the system. Don't let the cold weather keep you inside, you can't catch them on your couch! Call me 616-822-2923! Gill and Gary joined me today for a very cold day on the river. Despite the extremely cold weather fishing was still pretty good. We fished for roughly two and a half hours and managed to hook five steelhead. With the low clear water on the Muskegon River right now, floats and spawn provide the stealthy drift needed to hook numbers of steelhead. Today I had the pleasure of hunting with my good buddy Scott, owner of Pine Hill Sportsman's Club. We tried to hunt some ducks this morning but the pond was froze over however we did manage to kill a nice snow goose! When we bailed on the waterfowl Scott showed me what his farm had to offer and it did not disappoint. After roughly two hours of hunting over Scott's pointers we were able to see countless pheasants. Check out Pine Hills Kennels and Sportsman's Club. If bird hunting is your thing Scott's operation will not disappoint! What do you do when you don't have to wake up and go fishing? You wake up earlier and go chase waterfowl. I was able to spend some time in the field today with a good buddy of mine and the goose hunting was awesome. We even got a few bonus mallards to go along with a limit of honkers. Andy joined me today with his friend Dewayne for another day of steelhead fishing on the Muskegon River! Not only did we have a blast, fishing was great! Dewayne with his first steelhead ever at 79 years old! Fished a few hours this afternoon with 8 year old Nicklas and 10 year old Aaron. These two little guys went from learning how to cast, to landing steelhead in a only a few hours on the water. Great work boys, can't wait till spring to do it again. Nicklas started us off with a great buck. First steelhead he had ever hooked. Great job. Aaron wasn't to proud to pose with some smaller steelhead. Nothing wrong with some skippers! Nicklas had the hot hand today. He put a whoopin on this nice hen. Aaron ended our day with another nice one. These two boys are hooked for life! |
